Ust. Muhammad Umar Mustafa
Executive Director
Muhammad Umar Mustafa is a lifelong student of Islamic knowledge and a highly trained instructor of the Arabic sciences. He has studied at multiple prestigious institutions including Darul Uloom al-Madania, Darussalam Seminary, and the Institute of Islamic Education in Elgin, where he consistently ranked at the top of his class. In 2022, he received an ijazah from Sh. Abdul-Hayy Habbal to teach the Arabic sciences and holds a shahada in the 10 Qira'at of the Quran by Dr. Fawqi Jawadah al-Azhari, with whom he continues his studies toward an ijazah. As an accomplished Arabic linguist, he skillfully leverages technology to create innovative educational platforms for Arabic and Islamic Studies. His work has earned recognition from world-renowned scholars and linguists. Deeply committed to his local community, he focuses on youth development and strengthening their connection to faith and tradition.

Mohsin Khan, MD
Board Member
Dr. Mohsin Khan brings extensive experience in non-profit leadership and organizational development. He serves on the Board of Directors of Khalil Center, where he played a key role in its expansion to over 50 providers and multiple clinical sites across the globe. A neurologist by training, Dr. Khan is the System-Wide Director of Sleep Disorders Centers at Mercyhealth. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Sacred Learning and is deeply committed to faith-based community growth and service.

Dr. Amer Rasheed
Board Member
Dr. Amer Rasheed brings a wealth of hands-on experience in organizational management. He has held extensive leadership roles in Muslim student organizations and various other leadership capacities throughout his undergraduate and medical training. As Chief Resident, he played a key role in helping grow and manage his residency program. Dr. Rasheed is a board-certified interventional radiologist and an active member of the Rockford Muslim community, deeply committed to the growth and development of the community.

Amal Malha
Teaching Assistant
Amal Malha is a native Arabic speaker born and raised in Tangier, Morocco. She holds a degree in Design and Social Innovation from a design school in France. In 2024, she completed the Classical Arabic and Essential Islamic Knowledge program at Qalam Institute, where she currently continues as a part-time student in Foundational Islamic Sciences. As a teaching assistant, Amal works to make Arabic accessible to learners worldwide. Drawing from her background in both Arabic language and design thinking, she strives to create clear, structured learning experiences that help students build confidence and proficiency in their Arabic studies.
